Headland’s EuroBLECH Tour 2024: A celebration of innovation and precision engineering

The 2024 EuroBLECH tour, hosted by us, was an unforgettable two-week journey through Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, showcasing TRUMPF’s state-of-the-art facilities and technology. The delegation comprised customers and industry professionals eager to witness cutting-edge advancements in manufacturing and sheet metal processing. The tour offered unparalleled insight into TRUMPF’s innovative solutions, reference site visits, and the vibrant cultural heritage of Europe. 

Exploring TRUMPF technology across Europe 

The tour included visits to TRUMPF facilities in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, where attendees explored a variety of advanced equipment, including:

Participants gained firsthand experience with TRUMPF’s high-tech solutions for precision sheet metal processing, laser technology, and automation. These demonstrations underscored TRUMPF’s commitment to excellence and innovation, catering to industries ranging from automotive to aerospace and beyond. 

One highlight was the visit to TRUMPF Grüsch in Switzerland. This facility specialises in laser technology and houses production lines for TruLaser and TruMark series, as well as PowerTools. The site exemplifies TRUMPF’s precision engineering, with its focus on 2D laser cutting technologies and next-generation manufacturing.

Salzmann Formblechtechnik (Bregenz, Austria) 

A standout on the tour, Salzmann Formblechtechnik is renowned for its expertise in processing sheet metal, steel, aluminium, stainless steel, and plastics. Salzmann employs fully automated 2D punch, nibble, and laser systems, along with advanced 3D laser technology. The company utilises a range of TRUMPF equipment to achieve unparalleled precision, including:

Aldinger GmbH (Nagold, Germany) 

Aldinger GmbH specialises in processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics. They utilize fully automated 2D punch, nibble, and laser systems alongside advanced 3D laser technology, demonstrating how TRUMPF’s innovations streamline complex manufacturing processes. Autz & Herrmann GmbH (Heidelberg, Germany) 

A German pioneer in sheet metal processing, Autz & Herrmann GmbH was founded in 1909 and has a long history of embracing innovation. The company installed its first TRUMPF robot laser welding cell in 1999, and its expertise lies in precision manufacturing for industries requiring high-quality sheet metal solutions.

TRUMPF: Innovation across borders – A global technology journey 

TRUMPF Switzerland (TCH), Grüsch 

Located in the scenic Prättigau Valley, the Grüsch facility is a hub for TRUMPF’s innovations in laser technology. It houses state-of-the-art production plants for the TruLaser and TruMark series, as well as portable power tools. The site emphasizes sustainability, using eco-friendly methods such as groundwater heating and cooling. The facility also stands out architecturally with its modern pavilion, reflecting TRUMPF’s commitment to blending functionality with design  

TRUMPF Headquarters, Ditzingen – Germany 

This flagship site is the heart of TRUMPF’s global operations. The Ditzingen campus is not only home to the company’s management but also serves as a center for innovation and production. Visitors here experience cutting-edge demonstrations at the Laser Application Centre and witness the development of high-tech solutions that drive the global sheet metal and laser processing industries  

TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen Hettingen (TWH) 

The Hettingen facility in Germany specialises in machine tool production, focusing on advanced automation solutions for bending and cutting processes. It supports TRUMPF’s mission to enhance efficiency and precision in manufacturing through groundbreaking technology  

The grand finale: EuroBLECH 2024 in Hannover, Germany 

The tour culminated at EuroBLECH 2024, the world’s largest exhibition for the sheet metal working industry. Delegates had the opportunity to see TRUMPF’s latest innovations alongside other OEMs, exploring trends that are shaping the future of manufacturing. TRUMPF’s exhibition booth showcased its full suite of technologies, solidifying its reputation as a leader in industrial machinery and technology. 

Reflecting on the experience 

Headland’s EuroBLECH 2024 tour provided an immersive experience that combined advanced technology, practical applications, and cultural exploration.
