STOPA is a leading manufacturer of automated storage systems for sheet material and long-span goods in Europe. The product line ranges from stand-alone applications to integrated automated modules. With 50 years of practical experience, including the installation of complex plants, and more than 2,000 systems installed worldwide, this independent company possesses unique know-how with regard to product quality and process security, process automatisation, and software development.
The days are over when incoming sheets had to be aligned by a stacker with the help of heavy coordinate corner plungers. The new automatic incoming goods station performs this job efficiently, precisely, and quickly. The STOPA PICKING TOWER is used for the commissioning of sheet metal stacks of all compositions in parallel to the main production. is a fully automatic solution for the individual discharge of bars and tubes and ensures the supply of subsequent processing machines.
As the doors of EuroBLECH opened on 26 October, STOPA presented innovations in intralogistics at its stand 1305 in Hall 1 of this year’s event. In line with the motto “AUTOMATION WITHIN”, STOPA showcased its role as a trailblazer in the hyper-automation of storage logistics. The focus was on four technical highlights. The visitors were able to witness the new automatic incoming goods station that STOPA has installed live and in action. By using its plungers, sheets of material are aligned completely automatically and gently, saving a lot of time and effort. As a result of automated processes, the delivery and alignment processes can be separated from the process of storing the product, which can be carried out completely automatically. The time savings amount to approx. Each pallet can take 2 to 3 minutes, which adds up over the course of the day.
STOPA’s completely automated turning unit provides an intermediate step in the product by setting cut-to-size material and turning it by 180 °. The machine is directly connected to the storehouse system for a completely automatic storehouse and reclamation. After turning a workpiece, the machine brings it back to the storehouse installation where it’s available for the farther product.
The STOPA tower tilt and lift station (KAS) provides a means of allocating individual tubes and bars in lengths of over 6.5 m or over 8.1 m (with conveyor 9.2 m), permitting a completely automatic force to metalworking machines. The result is a considerable gain in effectiveness, as robotization ensures a smooth workflow. Eventually, STOPA is displaying its ECO PLUS system. New modules can be added to the system as demanded to meet request demand and enable unborn growth. The storehouse system is grounded on the drive/ pull principle. The control unit can be stoked at any time with storehouse operation software and connected to an ERP system. STOPA’s experts were hands-on at the trade fair stage – it was a perfect occasion to learn about the capabilities of the software.
These high-performance systems from STOPA significantly boost effectiveness by completely automating the processes between incoming goods stations, storehouse installations and metalworking machines.
