For laminated materials like carbon fiber or fiber glass, it is necessary to pre-drill the pierce holes – otherwise the material may be de-laminated. This is either done manually or by the mounting a drill head to the Y axis, which then does the work for you.
The pneumatic drill can be retrofitted to any OMAX system and is already an option within your Intelli-MAX software.
