These are grants for smaller businesses and early-stage research projects. The fund will run until 2020–21 providing $1 million.

Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre

This non-profit centre promotes innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in Australian manufacturing. Projects it supports include: industry research, exporting, management skills, regulatory issues, etc.

Innovative Manufacturing Cooperative Research Centre

This non-profit, independent centre assists businesses with becoming globally relevant. Researching innovation in products, processes, and services.
