Michael Fletcher, the Managing Director of 3 Metals, was no stranger to the benefits of high-quality equipment. Having previously operated a similar business in South Africa using TRUMPF lasers and press brakes, he knew that the right technology could make a significant difference. This realisation, coupled with the company’s longstanding relationship with us and the Australian agent for TRUMPF, led to the decision to invest in advanced TRUMPF machinery/Technology.
In 2023, 3 Metals made a strategic investment in three key pieces of equipment: a TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 12kW laser cutter, a TRUMPF TruBend 5170, and a Timesavers deburring machine. These additions were chosen to enhance production capabilities, reduce costs, and maintain the high standards of quality that 3 Metals is known for.
The TRUMPF TruLaser 5030 brought unparalleled speed and precision to the company’s operations, enabling it to handle even the most complex fabrication projects with ease. The TRUMPF TruBend 5170, with its increased tonnage and 4-meter size, allowed 3 Metals to take on larger projects and perform more tasks in-house. The Timesavers deburring machine automated the finishing process, ensuring consistent, high-quality output.
Integrating the new TRUMPF machinery/Technology into 3 Metals’ existing operations was a carefully managed process, supported at every step by Headland’s TRUMPF experts. To accommodate the new equipment, 3 Metals needed to rearrange its existing machinery—a task that Headland assisted with from planning to execution.
