CITIZEN Cincom M32 5-axis CNC lathe with greater tool capacity

Tags:

The M32, synonymous with high-performance Cincom products, has undergone a full model change. This is truly borne out by the fact that more than 50% of the parts now have new designs, including the bed that constitutes the machine’s base, and that the turret tooling is also new. In the development, we incorporated a lot of requests from customers who are using our machines.

  • Greater tool capacity
  • High multifunctionality
  • High productivity

The advantage of “gang tool posts” is the fast tool change time and the advantages of “turret tool posts” are the number of tools mountable, good setup for tool changes, and simple conditions for interference avoidance.

The combination of these two tool posts having different structures can achieve both “productivity” and “multifunctionality”. From mass-production machining that requires speed to produce complex-shaped workpieces to prototype machining that requires setup ease, the reborn M32 has extensive capabilities that allow it to handle the breadth of lot sizes, which has been characteristic of the M series.

CITIZEN unveils most advanced CNC lathe machine yet with new M532VIII Model

The new M532VIII is CITIZEN”s most advanced machine model to date. This 32mm capacity Goliath with 12 programmable axes features a 10-position turret with Y-axis that allows for more sophisticated and highly productive machining functions. The turret tooling has been completely redesigned with a conversion to a single direct drive for rotary tools. Gang and turret live spindle power increased to 3 HP!

New HMI operation panel

The new Mitsubishi M850W control, featuring a new touchscreen HMI operating panel, allows for faster processing and reduced non-cut times vs. the previous “M” generation. In addition to the 10-position turret, the M532VIII features a programmable B-axis 4 front/4 back position tool posts for the gang slide for true 5-axis machining.

The new M5-series machine construction achieves optimal rigidity and intelligent control for precision multi-tool machining

Structural analysis was performed to achieve a highly rigid design that provides an optimal balance between strength and weight to improve the rigidity required during the machining process. This new machine construction and intelligent servo control make the machining of precision workpieces in a minimal cycle time possible. Our three-tool post-construction allows machining with up to 3 tools on main and back spindle simultaneously. You can also switch between guide-bushing and non-guide bushing modes and there is also an option for a 38-mm bar capacity upgrade. One thing is for certain with CITIZEN’s new M5-series machine – the only limitation to what you can create is your mind!

If you don’t require the B-axis live tool post, then the M532VII is the machine for you. Instead, it offers a 3-position live face tool post that can be manually adjusted. The M532VII, like the type VIII, offers the Y3 axis on the back-working tool block to accommodate up to 3 tiers of tooling. If you don’t need to use your 3-position live face block on the main spindle, it can be removed and mounted directly onto this secondary back-working block!

Advanced chip control technology enables faster, safer machining with CITIZEN’s LFV technology

This machine is also equipped with CITZEN’s most advanced chip control technology. Chip control is a key challenge for high production or high-quality machining. Previously, companies handled chip problems with complicated programming, high-pressure coolant, or slower machining speeds. This led to reduced tool life, damaged surfaces, and fire hazards from chip entanglement. CITIZEN’s LFV technology offers a simpler solution that turns long swarf ribbons into small chips with just a line of code. By fragmenting chips, LFV enables faster, safer machining even on tough materials like stainless steel and plastics. LFV chips are less likely to tangle, improving tool life and surface finish.

Key benefits of CITIZEN’s LFV technology:

  • Easy to use and flexible control, it is a g code, not a macro.
  • Reduces or removes ‘built-up edge’ on cutting face
  • Increased quality of finish
  • Reduces tooltip damage through reduced heat
  • Reduces incidental tool damage by swarf
  • Reduces the volume of chips
  • Increased tool life and uptime
  • Increased reliability and safety for unmanned operation
  • Reduces or removes the need for high-pressure coolant
