A guided tour to TRUMPF factories, special site visits and to experience culture, cities and foods.
This year Headland Technology took a large customer delegation to EuroBLECH 2022 with an early start. Whilst most others just enjoyed the EuroBLECH exhibition in Hannover, Headland enhanced their specially designed tour by taking our customer delegation to their first site visit at the TRUMPF factory in Grüsch (Switzerland). Our customers were able to observe the laser and automation factory and received a 2D laser cutting demonstration of the 703 TruLaser Cell led by TRUMPF experts.
Sightseeing around Switzerland and Konstanz
After that, it was back to the cultural aspect of the tour, eating local specialties and enjoying the views of the smallest Swiss canton in Appenzell, Switzerland. That evening the tour boarded the bus to Konstanz, Germany and arrived that evening to have a fresh start the next day to explore Konstanz on their own. Did you know that Konstanz is known to be a beautiful medieval town? Konstanz was founded as a Roman fort in the 4th century AD and became an episcopal see at the end of the 6th century. Konstanz is a city on Lake Constance (Bodensee), in southern Germany. Its preserved medieval district of Niederburg includes the Romanesque Konstanz Cathedral, known for its mix of decorative styles and a Gothic spire. Well, now you know. The weather must have known we had very important people with us and shined upon us.
Who doesn’t want to see a castle?
After a free day in Konstanz, the tour boarded the bus to visit and explore the Sigmaringen Castle in Sigmaringen. The Sigmaringen Castle was the princely castle and seat of government for the Princes of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. Situated in the Swabian Alb region of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, this castle dominates the skyline of the town of Sigmaringen. The delegation then enjoyed a beautiful traditional Swabian dinner at the Brauwerk Zoller-Hof which is locally known and founded in 1845 and is still family-owned. The Brauwerk Zoller-Hof (brewery & restaurant) is in the town centre of Sigmaringen where you can still enjoy the beautiful views of Sigmaringen Castle.
TRUMPF factory tours and reference customer site visits
The next day it was off to visit the punch and bending factory OTT with life demonstrations and Q & A sessions with experts. Followed by a short bus ride to TRUMPF Werk Hettingen where our customers enjoyed a big welcome and an especially designed tour through the Hettingen TRUMP Werk whilst viewing punching and tube cutting machines in action followed by yet another Q & A session with TRUMPF experts. But we didn’t stop there, Headland’s EuroBLECH tour continued to the Blech and Laser Centre BLC in Gammertingen, Germany with life demonstrations and Q & A’s. We then departed to Stuttgart, Germany and drove our customers to the Stuttgart city centre to walk about the famous 1.2 km long Königstrasse. The Königstrasse is known for its specialty shops, department stores, cafés, and restaurants. The next day we checked out from the Hotel and travelled to Ditzingen arriving early morning at TRUMPF HQ. Our delegation enjoyed a TRUMPF-designed factory tour with live demonstrations and Q&A sessions following a luncheon at the TRAMPF campus restaurant.
And now to the EuroBLECH Show 2022
After a full-on TRUMPF tour, the delegation enjoyed the transport from Stuttgart to Hannover via the ICE also known as the Inter City Express which is a high-speed train system predominantly running in Germany with top speed travelling up to 300km/h. What a thrill! We arrived at Hannover’s train station and continued via bus to our final accommodation in Hannover. Just enough time to rest and to start the next day at EuroBLECH 2022. At EuroBLECH and the TRUMPF stand the delegation received another organised TRUMPF tour with the experts followed by many Q&A sessions. There was also some free time to roam around as well as witness the launch of an entry-level bending machine, the TruBend 1000.
Showing all and seeing most
TRUMPF’s booth at EuroBLECH also showcased the new functions of its proprietary production planning and control software Oseon, which included a module for reducing non-productive activities. After walking around the EuroBLECH exhibits we drove our customers back to the Hotel for well-deserved rest.
Auf Wiedersehen! Don’t stay away too long
All great things must have an end, and this was our end for the official guided Headland /TRUMPF tour. But wait we would not let our customers down, for the next two days, Headland arranged several visits of our brand partners including STOPA, Tecoi, OMAX, Timesaver, InspecVision and Gabella and which everyone interested thoroughly enjoyed. The tour given by Headland and TRUMPF was a great chance for all to network, engage and ask questions and hopefully receive the answer they were looking for which we believe our customers did. We here at Headland like to thank our customers for joining us and we hope to see you at EuroBLECH 2024.
Here a quote from our customer Shane Marshall from Roband Australia on the success of the guided Headland EuroBLECH tour 2022:
“The experiences and knowledge gained on the delegation were invaluable. Not just on the machinery, but on the countries, we visited, the varied applications that the machines are used in and the common challenges that we face in our respective businesses. We are coming back with the information and motivation to set ourselves up for the next 2 years”.
